Taylor Swift Satchels

Hello all!

It's no surprise that I believe Taylor Swift to be impeccably dressed practically all the time. Her satchels in particular are pretty good at complementing all of her outfits be they veering off into 1950s housewife territory, slightly mod or styled so that she looks like she is just about to go horse riding/to school.

She seems to tote the same bag everywhere for a few months before upgrading for a more expensive model or to get rid of any lingering associated memories of unpleasant break-ups. Remember this handbag?

Before that came the Santa Ana satchel from BearaBeara:

Which just so happens to be perfect school bag size since it fits A4 pads of paper though A4 files might be pushing it a bit. I rather like structured bags for work since my current bag gets rather floppy resulting in weird little niches and pockets/folds of leather which means that little things ie. MY EMERGENCY MEMORY STICK sometimes get misplaced. The downside is probably that if you ever have to carry anything that isn't perfectly cuboidal like my soup boxes then things get a bit awkward since there is practically no give in the leather.

The Santa Ana satchel design was changed into a one clasp version, like so:
Santa Anna small single clip front
But BearaBeara probably realised that was stupid what with all the publicity Taylor Swift was getting them and they changed it to a double clasp recently (which is still slightly different from her original version):

Santa Anna small double clip side

I still think that it is pretty handsome but at £135 you really have to love it enough to use it every day in order to justify the price!

In other news her Mark Cross "Scottie" satchel is according to the internet "having a moment". But at something ridiculous like nearly £2000, I sincerely hope someone manages to find a decent similar oversized structured purse typed thing. Or perhaps just a blatant dupe.

Ahhhhh.... If only my workload and bookload was light enough to be able to sling that over a single shoulder without getting angry looking bruises. Oh and price, obviously. Despite it's size it probably retains its shape best when not forced to carry anything heavier than a purse, lipgloss and mobile. Seriously though, if anyone finds a convinces copy, let me know!

Over and out!
